Deeside Timberframe, one of the UK’s leading timberframe suppliers, have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their busy and expanding Sales Team.

Reporting to the UK Business Development Director, you will be a key member of the business development team with responsibility and autonomy for enhancing our client portfolio to maximise opportunities to meet business growth targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to drive sales growth and expand our customer base across Scotland.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Scottish construction market. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategic plans for expanding our client base and increasing market share (including builders, developers, architects, and contractors).
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, serving as the primary point of contact for their timber frame needs. Understand their requirements, address concerns, and proactively seek opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. The remit is inclusive of timber frame wall panels, floor systems (open web & I-joists) and roof solutions all of which are designed, manufactured and controlled within Deeside.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution from initial inquiry to completion. Coordinate with design, production, and installation teams to deliver timber frame solutions that meet client expectations and project timelines.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments related to timber frame construction in Scotland. Use market insights to inform strategic decision-making and identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote our brand, services and contribute to wider awareness and adoption of timber frame solutions.

    • Ensure design principles and manufacturing processes are considered to minimize environmental impact, including energy-efficient production methods and waste reduction initiatives.
    • Strive to reduce our carbon footprint through the use of renewable energy sources and the implementation of carbon offset programs.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in business development within the construction industry, preferably with experience in timber frame or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the Scottish construction market, including key players, regulations, and trends.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented approach to achieving sales targets and objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Scotland as needed.
