Overview:
We have a great opportunity for a Quality Assurance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be working on the HIP contract for Aberdeenshire Council, along with other ongoing retrofit projects, responsible for overseeing site operations to ensure key contract deliverables are achieved. You will be a key point of communication for all involved parties with a strong focus on health and safety, quality, and programme.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work complies with project specifications and standards and are acceptable to the client.
- Check work complies with the RAMS and Construction Health & Safety Plan.
- Endeavour to ensure the safety of all persons affected by the works. Stopping any unsafe acts and report breaches to the Management Team.
- Where approval samples are available, compare work carried out against samples and ensure that it’s consistent with the original.
- Check that progress is maintained according to the building programme and advise on any likely cause for delay to management.
- Identify defects or non-conformities and document them.
- Coordinate with site teams and implement corrective and preventive actions and ensure prompt rectification of any defect identified.
- Ensure works are fully complete and ready for inspection by the client within the allotted timeframe (as per project spec) and any extensions of time required are notified if and where required.
- Prepare and attend snagging inspections and advise the relevant parties.
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and compliance checklists.
- Make visits to the properties associated with the contract, attending site meetings, and advising of difficulties being encountered or likely to be encountered prior to starting work.
- Prepare reports for management.
- Suggest improvements both orally and in writing about any aspect of the works including quality which do not conform with the plans, specifications, or schedules of works and assist in implementing changes or new processes.
- Help develop and enforce quality control procedures.
- Act as a bridge between site workers, contractors, and management.
- Provide onsite toolbox talks or guidance to workers on quality standards and best practices.
Skills / experience:
To be considered for this position applicants will have the following attributes:
- A good understanding of health and safety requirements as well as risk assessments.
- Able to adapt to changing requirements and organisational needs efficiently, adjusting plans when needed.
- Able to develop effective networks with stakeholders within project.
Requirement:
- Full UK driving license.
- Experience working on social housing or domestic retrofit projects
- CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS certification
The successful candidate will be provided with a commercial vehicle for business use.
