Bancon Group is proud to support the Specsavers Dundee Doddie’5 Team with a £500 donation as they take on the Doddie’s Grand Tour 2025, a gruelling endurance challenge in aid of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
On Wednesday, 5th February, courageous participants embarked on this winter adventure, joining former Scotland rugby captain and motor neurone disease (MND) campaigner Rob Wainwright OBE on the road in the South West of Scotland. Their mission? To cover an incredible 700-mile route in just four days, culminating in Edinburgh on Saturday, 8th February, ahead of Scotland’s Six Nations match against Ireland.
Rob Wainwright, who earned 37 caps for Scotland between 1992 and 1998, was the country’s first captain of the professional era. He remains one of the most passionate supporters of the foundation, which was established by the late Doddie Weir, his former teammate, to fund vital research into MND.
This afternoon, as the Specsavers Dundee Doddie’5 Team passed through Banchory, they were welcomed by James Adamson, Finance Director at Bancon Homes & Construction, Alexander Burnett of Leys MSP and Richard Fawcus, Partnerships Land Director, who is actively supporting the event and the team as a support driver.
Bancon Group is honoured to contribute to this meaningful cause and wishes all cyclists the very best as they take on this extraordinary challenge. Good luck to all the teams!
